The Hearth Keeper

As creation began to exert it's dominion over the expanse, there was naught but cold, dark, and uncaring lands. From beyond the stars he came to be. Seeing the dark and cold, they endeavored to carve out their own space. At first, only able to draw on the light from the stars he was born from, he created the first flame known as the eternity ember. With this ember, he was able to light the first hearth. Though it was still small, this hearth allowed the first creatures to be, nourished by the warm glow of his hearth, began to take root.

Seeing these creatures begin to grow, he was emboldened. Drawing more light from the star, he nourished the hearth and warmed his new wards. However, just like the nature of the flame, eventually his wards began to fade. As they began to grow cold, he would release their spirit and take their forms to the hearth and allow them one final warming amongst the coals. To his surprise, the hearth would roar and grow with the gratitude of the creatures he so tenderly cared for. Soon, the flame in the hearth grew too large to contain, so he took some of the flame and constructed new hearths in different lands allowing more creatures to flourish and grow.
