You place the tome on the dais. The runes once again glow with the same shadowy light, and the runes on the pages coalesce into a language you
can read.

Wares and Coin

While most smaller villages will pool resources communally, the greater lands require more structure to their trade than barter and community. Speciallized
weavers are tasked with creating small tokens which represent value. These are then disbursed to merchants who trade the tokens for the wares that the merchants
then take and distribute to the outer villages. These coins and wares are then exchanged as necessary throughout the land to fuel the economies of the land.

The main wares that are traded and sold are the results of the weavers. Tools, clothing, and various materials that are woven from the shadow. Based on the quality
of the weave, the price can vary wildly, although some standards exist. Particularly skilled weavers can pull more value for their wares along with those who make more
exotic items. However, the woven ware that can fetch the highest price are artifacts. Ancient woven items where the original weave was done either by a famous or prolific
weaver, or if the item is a so called legendary weave. These are usually reserved for only the richest amongst the shades as it is not easy to part with such a weave.

Other than the woven wares, there are some luxury items found in the wilds. Various forage items, the weave from various creatures of the wild lands, or specially dense
weave from pockets in the ground. These tend to fetch a price depending on how difficult they are to find, but on average, since even more common things from the wilds
are more difficult to obtain they tend to go for a better price. However, this does mean that there is a thriving wilderness and explorer guild as people seek to make
their fortune in untamed lands.
