You place the tome on the dais. The runes once again glow with the same shadowy light, and the runes on the pages coalesce into a language you
can read.
There are those things that are at best, unpalatable, amongst shades. In particular, the blinding light which is the counterpart to our world of shadows
and burns away the darkness that gives us all form. Despite this most antithetical substance, there are those weavers who risk heresy and weave the light into
their creations. They work in secret, away from other shades, using sigils and symbols that are perverse and corrupted from those of She Who Casts the Shadows. When
you encounter such a woven object, it will seem to make things around it less substantial, reducing the permanence of nearby objects, seemingly scraping away
the darkness. These relics pose great danger to shades and improperly handled, can do more than just disrupt the form of shadows, but erase them completely!
Light winders, as they prefer themselves called, practice a perverse version of shadow weaving. As heretics, they keep themselves secreted away, and finding an implement
they have created is rare, as they are carefully guarded secrets. Some believe that they do not even exist, mere figments of the overactive imagination. But as my hand marks
these pages, I can attest to having seen one of these implements. A sword, blade dark as the most tightly woven shadow, but whose edge would glinted as if to tear a hole right through
the darkness around me. The light winder who held it fled into shadows and out through the light-lands, but not before having scraped the arm of my fellow scholar
from existence.
Be ever vigilant, as the light is that which opposes Dark Gaia, her children, and our very way of life. These light winders must be found and brought to pay for their crimes against the
darkness.
