You place the tome on the dais. The runes once again glow with the same shadowy light, and the runes on the pages coalesce into a language you
can read.

The Grand Weaving

The most important piece of history in all of the weave is the story of the grand weaving. Many upheavals ago, the shades were at best only loosely
associated. This meant even in the most optimal of conditions, there was very little cooperation amongst shades. They would constantly fight for resources
or shelter. This would go on for many cycles resulting in any attempts to gather resources or stockpile supplies fruitless, as constant fighting would result
in any such storage being raided.

This would all begin to change when Ko'Tak was formed from the weave. Ko'Tak was not a particularly large shade, but it seemed that they could turn words into shadow
as seamlessly as any weaver could weave shadow into goods. Shades who came across Ko'Tak would be swayed by the way their words danced along the air. Through this
weaving of language, Ko'Tak was able to build a community. Many became Ko'Tak's diciples, this allowed them to establish the first commune, allowing them to not only
stockpile resources, but gave them the means to defend it.

As the cycles continued, Ko'Tak's community grew into the first kingdom of shades. It was at this time that they decided to use their power of words to weave the first
treaty of law. This treaty took the laws set forth by She Who Casts the Shadow and wove upon it the laws of shades. These laws would be used as the basis for all kingdoms
going forward. Though the laws did not have as strong of an affect as Dark Gaia's laws, it did however become integrated to all shades. Any new shade would become instantly
aware of the laws of Ko'Tak. While these laws cannot prevent actions necessarily, the laws do inform decisions and it allows shades to detect when the laws may be broken.
