You place the tome on the dais. The runes once again glow with the same shadowy light, and the runes on the pages coalesce into a language you
can read.
One would surmise that in a land of shifting shades, not much can be done. For darkness is fleeting and forever shifting. However, some shades
are able to distill the darkness and weave it into forms. Following in the traditions of Dark Gaia's children, shadow weavers are able to mold and
coalesce the shadows into form. Each specializing in their own form of weaving. Ornaments, structures, armaments, all things can be woven eventually
and they are sturdy as any physical form.
These shadows can take form and interact with the world around them, forming tools and weapons. Some are even strong enough to project shadow over a great distance
allowing for fast transportation of creatures and objects. A network of these tools exist to allow for quick travel across the darklands. And though it is not often
that there is need for violence, well woven weapons and armor can disrupt the natural form of shadows and shades.
Some shadow weavers, who delve deep into forbidden knowledge learn to shape not just shadow, but also the light that casts shadow. Light winders are
exceptionally rare, and some consider them to be heretics. By weaving light into the shadows, not only do they gain a more powerful permanence, but they
are able to generate small amounts of their own shadows.
